OK..
So we are going to move forward and get our first "West Coast Offense" actor/writer/filmmaker collective meeting underway on Monday night.
This will be a very informal "orientation" meeting with introductions, some preliminary planning goal setting.
The meeting is going to take place in the "Community Room" area in the Farmers Market section at The Grove. I will be there at 6:30P. The meeting will officially start at 7P and run until 9P. It's okay if you are running late (As a few of you have indicated), just come on upstairs and join us.
Call me on my cell if you can't find us
A few topics we will discuss:
The format of the meetings
Future meeting time and location options
Group Resources
Future projects
Inviting writers, table readings at meetings
acting work/exercises during meetings
Naming the group (Back East, we were ProActive NY..."The Professional Actors Collective of NY." I'd like to create a new name for the West Coast chapter)
Enter the Grove on Fairfax. The entrance to the Farmers Market is across from The Coffee Bean and the stairs to the meeting area are right inside that entrance. You might want to buy a coffee or a bottle of water somewhere and get your parking ticket validated.
Ok...I look forward to seeing you there. I look forward to doing great things with this group.
See you Monday!

MESSAGE SENT TUESDAY NOVEMBER 6th 2007
Hi-
I'm am going to be RE-creating a new actor/writer/director/butcher/baker/candlestick maker collective/collaborative here in Los Angeles, much like the ProActiveNY group that I was involved in in New York over the past five years....
In 2005 we produced 10 short films over the course of the year as a result of our carefully planned monthly short film project. We then held our own short film festival in Feb 2006 that attracted a dozen industry players, a beer sponsor and a viewing audience of about 300 (All stuffed in to a medium sized sports bar).
So I want to establish the same of type of activity, see what kind of momentum we can build, in the essence of mastering your own destiny, creating your own work, driving your own bus....
And I'd like to extend an invitation...
I'm going to put a meeting together for next Monday from 7P-10P....the plan a second meeting for the Monday after Thanksgiving....location TBD...it will likely be at a rehearsal studio in the area.
So if you are interested...please come check it out on Monday....if you cant make every meeting.....no worries...if you cant be there at 7...its okay to come late...
This group can quickly become a community of like minded artists..a great place to share and receive information...a place to bring in material as an actor or a writer and get feedback...it's really what you make of it....what we make of it...
Ok...that being said...please get back to me and let me know if you can attend this Monday. So I can get a feel for how many people to expect...
See you soon,
James
